So ready to see it all!

I recently went back to www.switzerworld.com/P2 to copy and paste the link to send to someone and found something AMAZING! They posted more photos. Yipee! Check them out. They are seriously cool.

Andrew and I have been struggling to find the time to head back to St. Louis to view all of our photos, so this was a welcome surprise to see some additional ones.

Right now, we are scheduled to head back Friday, June 17-Monday, June 20 and to meet with Switzerfilm on that Monday, so hopefully that will work out for us! We are also hoping to make it to the Cardinals game that Sunday as well.

We will keep you all posted. In the meantime, enjoy the photos that are there :)

The Dyersons GET SCHOOLED

On Saturday, May 14, Andrew and I attended an all day entrepreneurial seminar hosted by SCORE, www.scorekc.org. SCORE is a national organization with local chapters whose mission is to provide resources and expertise to maximize the success of existing and emerging small businesses.
Andrew has been "advising" me that I should start my own event planning business for awhile now and I think I am finally ready to start moving in that direction, but I do not just want to jump into something without knowing what the hell I am doing. In comes SCORE.
SCORE hosts a series of seminars that teach you about how to properly start your business, market it, and fund it. This first seminar was all about what you have to do to get ready to even think about starting your business, which mainly entails doing competitor research, figuring out your target market, and being able to sell yourself.
Andrew is already an entrepreneur and owns his businesses, but walked away feeling like he learned from this seminar and I feel like as long as you can walk away from something learning one new thing, it was a success. He also was there to support me in my potential future.
I will continue to work full time regardless of what happens with this idea/business. I love what I do and just want to be able to expand my horizons, if possible, on the side. My full time job will always come first.
My target market will start out in weddings and parties. Since I already do corporate events/meetings in my full time job, I wanted to break out and do something different. My services will include numerous options including full on event planning to a la carte options.
Andrew is also beginning a new cheerleading competition company on which I will consult, so it is going to be an interesting couple of years for us both to get our ideas off the ground.
I am very blessed to have a partner who truly believes in my intelligence, expertise, and skills in event planning, as well as many other things. Not many people have the opportunity to really put their dreams out their and realize them. Many people also do not have someone to stand by their side and help them through it.
I am also blessed to have a partner who is extremely creative and driven to go out and grab his goals and dreams. While I am afraid of failure, he believes failure cannot exist if you truly want something bad enough. He amazes me everyday with his excitement, tenacity, and shear will power to make things happen.

Marathon Madness

It is official. I have signed up for another 5 months of crazy 20 mile runs, fundraising, and early mornings. I am running the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco, CA for the second time. I had such a great time the first time, I thought "Why not?". I will be doing it through Team in Training again because I cannot imagine running a full marathon without them!
I have already started working on my fundraising letter, updating my fundraising website, boot blocking this Sunday, and am working on setting up a series of Crossfit/Bootcamp fundraisers at Crossroads Bootcamp. I am blessed that they are willing to help me out. The key to fundraising is doing the things that come easy to you and following the tried and true fundraising plans, such as a letter writing campaign.
I plan to raise $5000, which was my goal last time and I was about $450 short, so this time I am going to do everything I can to make it!
My training started last week. I have been doing 2 miles 2 times per week and then ran my first 3 miles in FOREVER this past Sunday. It is sad to say that I struggled. Coach Jen, TNT's best coach ever, says that your second marathon is harder than your first because after the first, you forget how hard you worked to get there and slack, but not me. I am going full force, continuing to do Crossfit as well, so I can improve my time by hopefully 10 minutes. It is a lofty goal, but I truly believe that I can do it.
Last year, I was not doing much other physical training besides running, so I am hoping the strength that Crossfit gives me will help me improve.
I am blessed to have a very supportive partner who doesn't bitch and complain when we stay in on Friday nights and I go to bed at 9pm. When I finish a long run, I can call him and have him poor my freezing cold ice bath. He comes to all my races in between and that truly makes me feel special. Growing up, my parents did not come to a lot of the events I participated in, so I really enjoy the fact that he is there.
So, over the next few months, I will also be doing updates about how my training and fundraising are going via my website, http://pages.teamintraining.org/mid/nikesf11/sdyerson, so check it out! Also, please donate if you can. Every $1.00 that is donated brings $.75 to local Kansas City cancer patients and their families. Most other charities only give back $.66 for every $1.00.

So how is married life?

Everyone has asked me over the last several days how married life is and to be honest I don't know yet. It seems like we have been in a crazy whirlwind of the last few weeks and are settling back into life as it was before.
I have started the process of changing my name and it seems extremely daunting. I am utilizing a services called MisstoMrs, www.misstomrs.com, to help me fill out all the appropriate paperwork needed to change my name for Social Security, Mortgage, Passport, etc. It seems pretty easy so far. I just fill out the needed information online and they fill out all the forms for you and give you instructions on how to submit each one. It works in all 50 states and is supposed to save 13 hours of time finding forms, etc. They do not actually submit the forms for you, but they do give detailed instructions and how and what other items you will need to do so.
I will keep you posted on how this turns out.

Here we go!

Andrew and I were married at 5:00pm on Saturday, April 16 and we are ready to get rolling on our life together and our family blog! We will try to post something everyday to keep you posted on what is new and exciting in our lives.

We will also be working on a new endeavor in the blog world as well called "Fat Kids Unite". We both LOVE food and have always dreamed of being food critics, so we thought why not start with a personal blog on it. We also wanted to have something that we do together weekly and what better thing to do than eat! We will be choosing a new Kansas City restaurant every week to try and critique. I will post out new blog information as I have it ready. We already participated in our first restaurant last night, La Bodgea in Leawood, KS. Check out their website in the meantime while we get our blog up and going, http://www.labodegakc.com/.

We want to say THANK YOU to everyone who attended our wedding. We had an amazing day and were so happy to celebrate with each and every one of you. We are very blessed to have so many people who love us.
